Otherwise, send your document by e-mail to info@onthedottranslations.com, specifying your billing and contact details, the source language, the target language(s), and the required delivery date.

How soon may I receive my translation?

The translation process time varies depending on various factors such as the volume, language pair(s), and type of document, but it is safe to say that, in general, a translator usually translates 2,500 words a day and we have multiple translators in the same field.

We understand the importance of your translation and we do our best not only to meet but also exceed your lead time expectations.

How do I send you a document?

If your document is in electronic form, use the online order procedure or send it as an attachment to info@onthedottranslations.com.

If your document is printed, send it by fax to (+1) 646-381-2025, by email, or by express delivery, specifying your billing and contact details, the source language, the target language(s) and the required delivery date. You will receive an estimate within four working hours.

How do I send files larger than 20 MB?

We accept e-mail attachments of up to 20 MB. Otherwise, we can set up very fast FTP access for sending and receiving larger files. What is more, you can always send us your files via www.wetransfer.com, a completely free and secure web service.

Is there a minimum order price or size?

There is no minimum order size. However, if you order a translation of fewer than 100 words, we will apply the price of a 100-word translation to cover our production costs.

Can you mail translations?

In general, we deliver translations through e-mail, but upon request, we will be more than happy to send physical hard copies of translations at an additional cost.

How is the price of a translation calculated?

The price of each translation project varies according to many factors, such as the type of the document, the length of the text to be translated, how many translations are required and the languages into or from which your project must be translated.

Since each project is unique, the easiest way to calculate the cost of your translation project is to fill in our free quote request form and we will go over your project, make a quote, and get back to you personally.

How do you charge?

For translations, our charges are based on the word count. Please feel free to ask our representative about unique languages or specific issues. If your work also requires desktop publishing, these charges are based on the number of hours it takes to complete that phase of work. To obtain an accurate cost estimate, we will need a copy of your original document.

When do I need to pay?

Invoices must be paid within 5 days of receipt of the translated document unless otherwise agreed. When you receive your translation, you will also receive an electronic invoice with payment details and instructions.

What guarantees do you give regarding quality?

We guarantee quality and timely delivery. However, if you reasonably dispute the quality of the translation, we will provide a new version as quickly as possible at our expense.

We work exclusively with qualified native speaker translators.

My lawyer requested that I get a certified translation of my documents. What is this and how can I get it?

Lawyers often ask that translations for court submission or personal documents such as diplomas, university transcripts, or birth and marriage certificates be certified. On The Dot Translations has several notary publics on its staff who are authorized to take the oath of the translator. As part of this certification, we provide a short description of the translator's qualifications and background.

My company need to have some highly technical instructions and specifications translated. Can you handle this format?

Yes, we have close to 26,000 translators who we can call on appropriately for the correct interpretation of the meaning of the source text, and render it precisely in the target language. Among these specialists are engineers, medical and legal professionals, scientists, and people trained in journalism, business, finance, banking, and the arts. At On The Dot Translations your work will be translated and edited by professional translators who are also knowledgeable, or even specialists in the subject area.  Approximately 75% of our translators have advanced degrees and 20% have doctorates.

Do you have offices at my location?

We are a web-based company in New York, NY. Our orders are delivered via email. You can place your order at your convenience 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What can I do if I'm having trouble reading non-Latin characters in my completed translations?

Different languages may require various character sets or fonts to be installed on your computer. Check out instructions for how this can be done for Japanese. Similar steps may be taken for any other language.
